Welcome Back to ESEIA: Technical University of Leoben Rejoins the Alliance

ESEIA is pleased to welcome the Technical University of Leoben back to the Alliance, renewing a connection that reaches back to ESEIA’s early years.

The Technical University of Leoben, AT, also known as Montanuniversität Leoben, brings to the network strong expertise across resources, materials and processes, with circular engineering at the centre of its approach to addressing challenges related to energy, resource efficiency and sustainable technologies.

The renewed membership also builds on an existing collaboration within the ESEIA community. Markus Lehner represents TU Leoben on the ToFuel Steering Committee, while the university is a partner in the EU-funded ToFuel project. Within ToFuel, TU Leoben contributes to the conversion of lipids and bio-oil into Sustainable Aviation Fuel through the HEFA route.

Markus Lehner, Chairman of the University Senate at the Technical University of Leoben, will act as the university’s ESEIA “administrator” and will represent the institution with voting rights at the ESEIA General Assembly.

TU Leoben will already be represented at the next major ESEIA gathering, with Markus Lehner joining members in Lisbon for the ESEIA General Assembly and the 7th ESEIA International Conference – Green Energy Solutions: Current and Future Trends, taking place on 23–25 November 2026.
