VGTU Interreg Project on Mobility and Accessibility in Rural Are

MARA project aims to increase the capacity of regional and local transport actors of the Baltic Sea Region to address multifaceted mobility needs.

ESEIA member VGTU, LT was partner in the MARA – Mobility and Accessibility in Rural Areas – project which aimed to improve the accessibility and mobility in touristic remote areas of the Baltic Sea Region by increasing the capacity of transport actors. This could be achieved by improving existing services and developing and testing innovative sustainable mobility solutions for remote areas. Within the framework of the project the improved or new mobility approaches were integrated into regional spatial and mobility development plans of remote areas. The project was funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2014 – 2020 and lasted 2.5 years (Jan 2019 – Jun 2021).
