The second STYRIAN ACADEMY Planning Workshop was based on best practise/ best lecture presentations of ESEIA members. The workshop addressed in particular the added value generated for companies and the expected increase in quality in training from the exchange of practitioners with academics.

STYRIAN ACADEMY February 2011
Following the successful launch in summer 2010, the second series of STYRIAN ACADEMY’s events took place in winter 2011 in Graz, Austria. The opening event was a FIRESIDE CHAT in Brussels on 8 December 2010 with international pannellists on the emerging topic of ‘Sustainable Smart and Resilient Cities’.
In February 2011 the STYRIAN ACADEMY addressed different target groups with specific formats in Graz:
- INTERNATIONAL WINTER SCHOOL 2011 ‘Sustainable Smart Cities’ from 14 – 18 February 2011 at the TU Graz, Austria.
- INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TRAINING SEMINAR 2011 on ‘Requirements for Buildings in 2050: EU Perspective for 80% CO2 Emissions Reduction’ the 16 February 2011 at the TU Graz, Austria.
- FIRESIDE CHAT: ‘Sustainable Smart Cities 4U’ the 16 February 2011 at the TU Graz, Austria.

The STYRIAN ACADEMY for Sustainable Energies was founded in 2010 and started on 15 June 2010 with the Kick-Off Event ‘The Future of Energies in the Heart of Europe’. Followed by the first International Summer School, International Business Training Seminar and Garden Talk.
