Recognising ESEIA’s Most Active Members of 2024
Each year, ESEIA recognises members whose dedication, collaboration, and leadership significantly strengthen the Alliance’s mission. In 2024, several outstanding contributors distinguished themselves through exceptional engagement across research and innovation, education and training, and Working Group activities. Their efforts reflect the spirit of the ESEIA community and the impact of active participation in shaping Europe’s sustainable energy future.
- Jarno Ruusunen, Savonia UAS, FI, Member of ESEIA Working Group 1: Biorefineries, Biobased Economy and Bioresource Utilization, for his active participation in ESEIA R&I, ESEIA’s education and training programmes, and for the successful organization of the 6th ESEIA Bi-Annual Conference and International Summer School.
- Mario Hirz, TU Graz, AT, Working Group 2, Focus Group 1 Leader: Energy Transition in Urban Regions, Smart Mobility, for his active participation as a Coordinator of Research and Innovation proposals, and his valuable contributions as a lecturer in the 6th ESEIA Bi-Annual Conference and International Summer School.
- Frans H.J.M. Coenen, UTwente, NL, Working Group 4 Coordinator: Governance, Business Models and Legal Frameworks, for his active participation in WG activities, his involvement in proposal development, and his valuable contributions to ESEIA’s 13th Lecture.
Their achievements highlight the strength of the ESEIA community and the value of active engagement in advancing sustainable energy research and innovation. We extend our sincere appreciation and look forward to continued collaboration in 2025 and beyond.
