EUSEW 2026 Highlights the Need for Collaboration Across Europe’s Energy Ecosystem
From 9–11 June 2026, policymakers, researchers, industry representatives, and innovators gathered in Brussels and online for the 20th edition of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), held under the theme “A Clean, Secure and Competitive Energy Union.” The event provided a platform to discuss Europe’s energy security, industrial competitiveness, renewable energy deployment, innovation, and skills development.
A key message emerging from EUSEW 2026 was the importance of stronger collaboration across sectors and borders to accelerate the clean energy transition. Discussions highlighted the need to connect research, innovation, policy, and market deployment in order to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness and achieve its climate ambitions.
These priorities closely align with ESEIA’s mission of fostering cooperation between higher education institutions, research organisations, industry, policymakers, and innovation actors across Europe. Through its projects, conferences, lecture series, and stakeholder networks, ESEIA contributes to building the collaborative ecosystems needed to support a competitive and climate-neutral Europe.
