ESEIA Working Groups Discuss Work Programme 2024

After the peak season of preparing proposals and engaging in other activities, the ESEIA Working Groups (WG) are shifting their focus to the Work Programme 2024 in a series of meetings aimed at discussing the pre-selected calls for proposals for the coming year under Horizon Europe and other EU-funded programmes.

The discussions carried out by the ESEIA WG and the ESEIA Team include a thorough analysis of the calls, from target topics to expected outcomes, to identify projects that can strengthen collaboration and leverage the collective expertise to drive meaningful change.

Two meetings have already taken place – the ESEIA Focus Group (FG) Smart Mobility meeting on 18 September and the ESEIA WG Bioresources, Biobased Economy and Bioresource Utilization meeting on 29 September 2023 – where potential funding opportunities, mostly under Horizon Europe Cluster 5, addressing Climate, Energy and Mobility, were identified. The ESEIA WG Governance, Business Models and Legal Frameworks will convene on 10 October 2023.

This strategic planning is crucial to ensure that ESEIA and its members remain at the forefront of sustainable energy systems innovation, aligning their efforts with the EU’s goals and priorities to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

The ESEIA Work Programme and Budget 2024 will be further discussed at the next ESEIA General Assembly meeting taking place on 14 November 2023 in a hybrid mode (Brussels and online).
