EMERGE Project | Latest Updates
The EMERGE project has continued its strong engagement across international platforms, reinforcing AU-EU collaboration on sustainable energy. The consortium gathered in Praia, Cabo Verde, on 16-17 October 2025, for its fourth General Assembly, hosted by the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE). The meeting was held alongside the ONEPlanET final event and the 2nd EMERGE Co-Design Workshop, creating valuable opportunities for dialogue between experts and policymakers and for strengthening synergies within AU–EU cooperation frameworks.
Throughout October, EMERGE was also visible at several major European and international events. The project contributed to the LEAP-RE Annual Event 2025 in Brussels, taking part in the Clustering Session on Grid Modelling on 22 October 2025. Earlier that week, EMERGE participated in the European Climate and Energy Modelling Platform (ECEMP) 2025 conference, held in Brussels and online, engaging with the wider modelling community. In parallel, EMERGE was showcased at the 20th Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems (SDEWES), which took place from 5–10 October 2025 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Complementing these activities, the EMERGE project has released its fourth newsletter, highlighting recent developments and progress within its African–European partnership on sustainable energy and climate resilience.
