Under the motto 100% Renewable Energies for Energy-Intensive Industries (EIIs), the RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar Series aims to provide a platform to debate how EIIs can succeed in the energy transition.
Each event, organised by ESEIA and partner organisations as part of the Horizon 2020-funded project RE4Industry, was designed to share best practices with local industry and forge a path toward decarbonisation for EIIs in Austria, Finland, Romania and Croatia.
Austria | 21 October 2022
The first RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar took place on 21 October 2022 at the Graz University of Technology in Graz, Austria.
100 participants gathered onsite and online to review climate targets, explore solution packages, and discuss the push and pull factors of the energy transition.
The seminar was organised in cooperation with the Federation of Austrian Industries of Styria and Carinthia.
Finland | 25 November 2022
The second RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar took place on 25 November 2022 at Warkaus-Sali Hall in Varkaus, Finland.
From EU officials to industry representatives, more than 40 participants gathered onsite and online to review climate targets, discuss barriers and explore solutions for decarbonising the EII sector.
The seminar was co-organised by ESEIA, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, the North Savo Regional Council, the City of Varkaus and the North Savo Energy Cluster hosted by Savonia University of Applied Sciences.
Romania | 14 March 2023
The third RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar took place on 14 March 2023 in Brasov, Romania.
The seminar, organised in cooperation with the Transilvania University of Brasov, brought together more than 50 experts from academia and industry who reaffirmed the need to accelerate the shift from fossil fuels towards 100% renewable energy solutions in EIIs.
Croatia | 13 June 2023
The fourth RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar took place on 13 June 2023 in Zagreb, Croatia.
More than 60 participants gathered onsite and online to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the energy transition in EIIs.
Organised in cooperation with the University of Zagreb – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, the seminar showcased solution pathways and success cases in integrating renewable energy in EIIs while reinforcing the need for cooperation among key stakeholders.
