On 23 November 2026, the ToFUEL project will host its 1st Local Stakeholder Workshop at LNEG in Lisbon, as part of the 7th ESEIA International Conference – Green Energy Solutions: Current and Future Trends.

This interactive workshop will bring together conference participants, ESEIA members and external stakeholders to exchange perspectives on feedstock availability, biomass pretreatment and carbon utilisation pathways. With a focus on Work Package 2 (WP2) – Upstream: Extrusion | HTL | Algae, led by LNEG, participants will explore technical and non-technical challenges, identify opportunities for collaboration and provide recommendations to support the development of sustainable biomass conversion pathways.

The programme will include an introduction to the ToFUEL project by Marlene Kienberger, TU Graz, AT, an overview of project activities by LNEG, and an interactive exercise mapping challenges and opportunities across the biomass value chain. Stakeholder input gathered during the workshop will directly inform project activities and future engagement throughout the project.
