ESEIA Establishes Presence in Brussels at Gare Maritime
ESEIA is pleased to announce its presence in Brussels, in a co-working space located at Gare Maritime, one of Europe’s most celebrated examples of sustainable building renovation.
The recently published EU guidance on building decarbonisation provides a timely policy backdrop for a choice ESEIA has already made. Learn more about the Commission’s new whole life carbon framework: EU Advances Building Decarbonisation
Gare Maritime is a former railway goods terminal in the heart of Brussels, breathtakingly reimagined as a vibrant, mixed-use sustainable campus. Sustainability was central to its renovation: the building generates its own energy from geothermal and solar sources, features green boulevards lined with gardens and trees running through its interior spaces, and sets a compelling standard for what adaptive reuse of historic buildings can achieve.
The result is a workspace that honours its industrial heritage while meeting the demands of a low-carbon future, a living demonstration that decarbonisation and architectural ambition are not in conflict.
ESEIA in Brussels is hosted within a co-working space at Gare Maritime, offering:
- High-speed WiFi and a productive working environment
- Private booths for online meetings
- Bookable meeting rooms
- Convenient dining options nearby
- Excellent transport links, a short walk from Brussels North Station, or a few minutes by bus
Working from Gare Maritime is, for us, more than a practical arrangement. It is a daily reminder that the buildings we choose to inhabit can themselves be a statement of our values.
