University of Ljubljana Rector’s Award for the Best Innovation Project
The University of Ljubljana Rector Prof. Dr Igor Papič awarded the project entitled ‘An Innovative Process of Preparing Catalysts for Improved and Cheaper Hydrogen Fuel Cells’ with the Rector’s Award 2019 for the Best Innovation. The selected project enables preparing catalysts for hydrogen fuel cells with remarkable properties. The use of hydrogen fuel cells will play an extremely important role in combating climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The Best Innovation project winning team is composed by Matija Gatalo and Tomaž Bizjak from the National Institute of Chemistry, and Groga Tancek from the Institute and Academy of Multimedia. The second place went to the project entitled ‘New Antibacterial Compounds for Treatment of Infections with Resistant Bacteria’ and the third to ‘Carpio’.
The Rector’s Award competition at the University of Ljubljana aims at encouraging students, teachers and researchers to cooperate with the Ljubljana University Incubator and get their innovations into the market.
