RE4Industry Final Event

After three exciting years, the Horizon 2020-funded project RE4Industry is nearing its end. The project’s final event took place 20 June 2023 in Brussels, in the margin of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW).

Under the title Capturing competitiveness: carbon removal, renewable energies, and feedstock efficiency for EIIs, the event brought together around 50 experts to discuss the future of the European industry. In addition to the RE4Industry project overview delivered by partners, the programme featured a keynote speech by a DG Energy representative, an introduction to the RETROFEED project, and a round-table discussion dedicated to the success cases and the remaining challenges in the decarbonisation of EIIs.

As one of the RE4Industry project partners, ESEIA marked its presence at the event, with the ESEIA Director Brigitte Hasewend delivering concluding remarks at the end. She highlighted the common aspirations among stakeholders involved in the decarbonisation of EIIs and the importance of a supportive legal system, education of the civil society, and collective efforts to succeed in this challenge.
