H2Excellence European Hydrogen Academy

LNEG to host the H2Excellence European Hydrogen Academy | Lisbon, May 2026

LNEG invites students and young professionals to a free 3-day international academy on green hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.

ESEIA member LNEG is organising the H2Excellence European Hydrogen Academy, taking place on 20–22 May 2026 at FIL – Meeting Centre, Parque das Nações, Lisbon, Portugal.

Part of the Erasmus+ H2Excellence project, this three-day international event is designed to bridge the growing skills gap in Europe’s green hydrogen sector. Bringing together leading scientists, engineers, educators and industry representatives from across Europe, the Academy offers a unique learning environment for the next generation of hydrogen professionals.

Who Should Attend?

The Academy is open to students in vocational, bachelor’s and master’s programmes, young researchers, and early-career professionals in engineering, energy, environmental sciences and related fields — as well as anyone with a keen interest in where hydrogen technologies are heading.

What to Expect

Participants will benefit from expert-led lectures covering the full hydrogen value chain, from production to application, alongside workshops and discussion panels with SMEs and corporations active in the sector. Dedicated networking sessions will connect attendees with peers, researchers and industry innovators. On Day 3, participants are invited to join a technical site visit to hydrogen-related facilities near Lisbon, a hands-on complement to the classroom programme.

Why This Matters

Registration is completely free. Beyond the knowledge gained, attendees will have direct access to R&D teams and industry leaders, and the opportunity to develop their career and research potential in one of Europe’s fastest-growing clean energy fields, all in Lisbon in spring.

LNEG’s role as organiser of this Academy reflects the strength of ESEIA’s membership network in action. As both a long-standing ESEIA member and the host institution of the upcoming 7th ESEIA International Conference in November 2026, LNEG continues to demonstrate its commitment to education, innovation and European collaboration in sustainable energy.
