EUA New Secretary General Appointed Ms Amanda Crowfoot

European University Association Board appointed her new Secretary General Ms Amanda Crowfoot November 2019. She took office on 6 January 2020 replacing Lesley Wilson who has been Secretary General of the EUA since it foundation 2002.

Ms Crowfoot, who previously was Director of Science Europe and also as Director of the UK Research Office (UKRO) in Brussels, BE, bring extensive knowledge to the EUA in all the domains of the European association includingengagement with the university sector, and interfacing with EU agencies.

As the EUA Secretary General position demands, Ms Crowfoot will co-develop and implement the strategic plan of the association with a focus on delivering greater impact for universities; deeper working relationships and partnerships; as well as membership growth. She will be an ambassador for all members, presenting a collective vision of strong universities in Europe, leading a team of 40 staff across offices in Brussels and Geneva, and overseeing a €5 million operating budget.

Lidia Borell Damian, who was before eseia’s main contact at the EUA – EPUE and was also part of the H2020 BET project External Advisory Board, was appointed Science Europe Director.
