EU Held R&I Info Days 23 to 24 June

Europe is place to be for innovation.

Europe has fantastic universities and it is home to a number of unicorn companies worth more than 1 billion € each. This was the uplifting analysis voiced in the opening p olicy session of the R&I Days to unbelievable 90,000 participants from all over the world.

Europe’s bold vision to become the first climate neutral continent in the world brings out the energies of many innovators in Europe. No one can be left behind if Europe wants to be innovation leader. Analysis shows there is a gap between the various strengths of national innovators, with the weaker stakeholders not having access to a large part of the European ecosystem’s resources.

Despite its fragmentation, Europe seems to hold the key for innovation with place-based innovation ecosystems that are demanding but show high potential when it comes to co-design, co-creation, and co-operation.

Systemic approaches and skills development are needed transversally to accompany digitalization and counteract climate change.
