ESEIA Working Group Meeting Highlights Innovation in Sustainable Energy and the Built Environment

The latest ESEIA Working Group Meeting brought together members from across the network on 29 May 2026 for a session centred on collaboration, knowledge exchange, and forward-looking opportunities in sustainable energy innovation.

A key highlight was the presentation by Fabio Montagnino, Coordinator of the ESEIA Working Group on Education and Training and researcher at The Cyprus Institute, CY. Montagnino shared insights into the role of nano-enabled building materials in supporting Europe’s green and human-centred transition, exploring how advanced materials science can contribute to more sustainable, energy-efficient, and resilient built environments, while reinforcing broader sustainability goals at the European level.

The meeting also featured a dedicated overview of upcoming European research and innovation funding opportunities, with a focus on energy systems, regional energy integration, and clean energy solutions for the built environment. Members gained valuable insight into potential areas for future collaboration and project development, providing a timely and practical perspective as new calls and programmes continue to take shape.

Through its Working Groups, ESEIA maintains a dynamic space where academia, research organisations, industry can come together, exchange knowledge, and build the partnerships that drive sustainable energy innovation forward.

ESEIA extends a sincere thank you to all members who participated and contributed to the discussion.

Save the date: The next ESEIA Working Group Meeting will take place on 26 June 2026 at 11:00 CET.
