EMERGE Enters Its Final Implementation Phase

During the second quarter of 2026, the EMERGE Horizon Europe project entered its final implementation phase, marked by an intensive programme of stakeholder engagement, dissemination activities and collaborative events supporting Africa’s green energy transition. As leader of the project’s communication and dissemination activities, ESEIA continued to play a central role in coordinating project visibility and fostering dialogue between European and African stakeholders.

Key activities included the 3rd Online General Assembly on 30 April 2026, participation in the ARE Energy Access Investment Forum (EAIF 2026) in Nairobi, the ONEPlanET ICT Toolkit Workshop in Mali, and preparations for the next phase of stakeholder engagement through the EMERGE Policy Labs, 3rd Co-design Workshop, the 2nd AU–AU Study Visit, and the launch of the EMERGE Hackathon Series across pilots Mali, Mozambique and Morocco.

The quarter also saw the publication of EMERGE Newsletter #5, coordinated by ESEIA, highlighting the project’s latest achievements, partner activities and upcoming events as EMERGE moves from tool development to real-world impact.

As the project approaches its final phase, these activities continue to strengthen Europe–Africa collaboration while supporting the deployment of the EMERGE Toolbox, policy dialogue and stakeholder engagement for a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
