Innovation Training Workshop, June 2015
In June in the framework of the ener2i project, together with SECURE R2I and INNOVER-EAST projects, ESEIA participated in the organisation of Brokerage Event and Innovation Training Workshop in Tbilisi. Local organiser was the Energy Efficiency Centre Georgia with support of the Georgian Technical University.
1 June: The Brokerage event aimed at facilitating the knowledge transfer from academia to business focused on EU H2020 Programme for Research and Innovation: opportunities for Georgian-EU cooperation. Among the speakers were representatives from the EC and the Georgian Innovation Agency. In the afternoon session bilateral face-to-face meetings were organised for energy and security related projects. The events featured an Award Ceremony of the ener2i Georgia Innovation Voucher Competition 2015 for stimulating cooperation between companies and researchers.
2 June: The Innovation training workshop addresed various aspects of innovation related to EE/RES. Overall 46 participants took part in the workshop. ESEIA experts gave interesting cases of sustainable energy and resource management:
- :metabolon – from a landfill to a competence center for sustainable resource management – Andreas CRONRATH (BAV and University of Cologne)
- The civilisation biorefinery – A networking approach for efficient utilisation of residual bioresources – Ina KÖRNER (TUHH)
- Energy efficient building pre-design aspects – Kęstutis VALANČIUS (VGTU)
- Green Buildings and Sustainable Urban Design – Gintaras STAUSKIS (VGTU)
