Overview

The tenth lecture in the ESEIA Lecture Series was held online from 19:00 to 21:00 CEST. This lecture focused on how to ensure sustainable land-use while enhancing renewable energy production in Europe.

Teresa Ponce de Leão introduced the topic, providing an overview of the EU policy landscape to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and explaining LNEG’s work in promoting technological innovation for greater competitiveness of the Portuguese economy. After her presentation, Ignacio Asenjo took the opportunity to discuss the Renewable Energy Directive and its latest revision, and Franz Prettenthaler offered a glimpse into how climate change forces more food production into protected cultivation.
