- We welcomed our members at the 28th General Assembly meeting: On 15 March 2023, 35 representatives from 18 ESEIA member organisations participated in the 28th General Assembly (GA) meeting, where several important decisions were made. The ESEIA GA unanimously adopted the Annual Report and the Audited Accounts 2022 presented by the ESEIA Director, pointing to another successful year with numerous achievements and positive financial results. Additionally, following the membership enlargement strategy adopted last year and the expression of interest received so far, the ESEIA GA decided to offer a reduced package of 50% of the annual membership fee for ESEIA associate members from outside of Europe.
- We announced the ESEIA Lecture Series programme for the spring/summer of 2023: After the success of the last two lectures – PV Systems and their Applications by Brian Norton and Repower Europe by Teresa Ponce de Leão – our hybrid lecture series hosted by TU Graz will continue this year. We invite you to join us for the upcoming lectures and explore the topics of New European Bauhaus, Circular Bio-Based Systems, and Water-Food-Energy-Nexus in sustainable communities in the EU and Africa. - We successfully held the third RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar: Under the motto 100% Renewable Energies for Energy-Intensive Industries (EIIs), the third RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar took place on 14 March 2023 in Brasov, Romania. The seminar, hosted by the Transilvania University of Brasov, brought together 58 participants for a day of insightful presentations and thought-provoking discussions on energy transition in EIIs. - We are committed to driving progress towards a climate-neutral future: While TU Dublin was stimulating discussions on environmental action amongst its students and employees and TU Graz was joining forces with Energie Steiermark to build 200 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the university’s campus locations, ESEIA was active in exploring opportunities for collaboration with other organisations and stakeholders. The ESEIA Director Brigitte Hasewend recently participated in two events – the EPNOE Research Roadmap 2040 launch event and the stakeholder meeting of the EPA Network Interest Group on Sustainability Research – where she had the opportunity to present ESEIA and explain how it operates to promote sustainable energy innovation, as well as engage in interactive discussions with a diverse group of stakeholders with joint interests.
