ESEIA Lecture Series: Second Lecture Delivered by Professor Teresa Ponce de Leão
After a successful start of the ESEIA Lecture Series in October, we are excited to invite you to join us for the next event! Entitled ‘Repower Europe’, the lecture will be presented by Professor Teresa Ponce de Leão and held on 17 November 2022.
The lecture will take place from 19:00 to 21:00 CET at HS i1, Inffeldgasse 18, Graz University of Technology, with live streaming. It will start with an introduction to the topic by the ESEIA Vice-President and President of the Portuguese National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG) Teresa Ponce de Leão.
This lecture will give a comprehensive overview of the REPowerEU plan, proposed by the European Commission earlier this year, to phase out the dependency on Russian fossil fuels and accelerate the clean energy transition in Europe. We will hear about how REPowerEU will shape the European energy system and the challenges and opportunities of scaling up renewables in the energy mix.
After the introduction, a lively debate with the CEO of Energie Steiermark Martin Graf and the Energy Head of Unit at the Styrian Chamber of Labour Karl-Heinz Kettl will follow. Together with industry experts, we will look into the position of energy providers and distributors in this transformation and its impact on businesses and consumers.
The Head of the Institute of Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation at Graz University of Technology Sonja Wogrin chairs the lecture.
The lecture is free and open to all interested stakeholders. Register here to attend!
