Discover ToFuel: Project Flyer Now Available
Alongside the website launch, the ToFuel project has released its official project flyer a concise two-page overview of the project’s goals, core technologies, and consortium. As communication and dissemination lead for the ToFuel consortium, ESEIA coordinated the design and development of this first communication material.
ToFuel (Grant Agreement No. 101235233) is coordinated by TU Graz and brings together 11 partners from 7 European countries over 48 months (January 2026 – December 2029), with a total budget of €3.5 million. The project’s central ambition is to demonstrate how tomato pomace the seeds, peels, and fibrous material left over from tomato processing can be converted into Sustainable Aviation Fuel through an integrated biorefinery approach.
The EU is the world’s third largest tomato producer, harvesting around 17 million tonnes annually. ToFuel aims to turn that underutilised waste stream into a meaningful contribution to Europe’s SAF supply, potentially covering up to 3% of EU SAF demand by 2030.
