ESEIA Member Integration Meeting with Karelia UAS

ESEIA continued its Member Integration activities with an online meeting with Karelia University of Applied Sciences (Karelia UAS) on Monday, 15 December 2025. The exchange focused on ongoing cooperation and future collaboration opportunities.

Participants from Karelia UAS included Petri Raivo, President, alongside Liisa Timonen, Simo Paukkunen, and Ville Kuittinen. ESEIA was represented by Brigitte Hasewend, Director of ESEIA, and Martin Kriegl, Project Assistant.

The discussion focused on ESEIA’s current activities, with particular attention to the Education and Training Programme, the Call Selection 2026, and the ongoing collaboration between ESEIA and Karelia University of Applied Sciences. Future collaboration opportunities were also addressed, including Karelia UAS’s involvement in the development of a new project proposal and its interest in further engagement within the ESEIA Call Selection 2026. In addition, the partnership between ESEIA and Karelia UAS was reaffirmed, along with the designation of Ville Kuittinen as the main project contact for ESEIA, supported by Simo Paukkunen, to ensure effective coordination of future project activities.

The meeting reaffirmed the strong and constructive partnership between ESEIA and Karelia UAS and underlined a shared commitment to advancing collaboration in education, research, and project development.
