EMERGE at Mid-Term | Recent Highlights
The EMERGE project has reached the midpoint of its Horizon Europe journey, showing strong progress in advancing green energy innovation across Africa and Europe. Over the past trimester, key activities have driven technical development, capacity building, and AU–EU collaboration:
On 5 June 2025, EMERGE held its Second Online General Assembly, bringing together all 11 project partners to review progress and set priorities for the next phase.
From 28 to 30 May 2025, EMERGE was showcased at the 1st African SDEWES Conference in Morocco, presenting its contribution to Africa’s sustainable energy transition.
From 19 to 21 May 2025, the Second AU–EU Exchange Event took place in Zaragoza, Spain, hosted by CIRCE, with practical sessions on GridCal, Smart Grids, Storage Placement, and Energy Markets.
From 28 to 31 January 2025, the First AU–EU Exchange Event was held in Paris, led by Artelys, focusing on CEPIA and METRIX tools for energy planning.
In addition to these activities, EMERGE released its 3rd Newsletter – Special Edition, providing a full update on project milestones and upcoming actions. Looking ahead, preparations are underway for the first AU–AU Study Visit, which will take place on 9-10 July 2025 in Nigeria, hosted by AfriLabs.
