EUSEW 2025: Spotlight on Europe’s Clean Energy Transition

The 19th edition of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the European Union’s flagship event dedicated to clean energy, took place on 10-12 June 2025 in Brussels, bringing together around 10,000 participants onsite and online. Under the theme “Powering a fair and competitive green transition,” the event provided a platform for key debates shaping Europe’s energy future.

Over three days, EUSEW featured seven plenary sessions and 60 policy discussions addressing critical aspects of the transition to clean energy. From energy security and innovation to social inclusion and regional cooperation, participants explored how strategic energy choices can boost Europe’s competitiveness while ensuring no one is left behind. More than 30 stands at the Energy Fair highlighted successful projects and initiatives from across Europe.

Among the highlights was the EUSEW Awards ceremony, celebrating outstanding contributions to the clean energy transition. This year’s winners included:

  • AQUABATTERY (Innovation category): A pioneering saltwater-based energy storage solution piloted in the Netherlands.
  • Energy Community for Social Housing in Otterbeek (Local Energy Action): A Belgian initiative improving renewable energy access for vulnerable tenants.
  • Stella Tsani (Woman in Energy): A Greek academic advancing policy, economics, and sustainability while mentoring the next generation of energy professionals.

EUSEW 2025 also introduced a new cohort of Young Energy Ambassadors – 30 students and professionals selected from over 1,300 applicants. Their one-year mandate includes collaboration with EU energy experts and promoting EU energy policy through their networks.

EUSEW remains a key moment in the EU energy calendar, offering valuable insights, connections, and inspiration for everyone committed to a sustainable energy future.
