ESEIA Joins Forces with CleanTech Hackathon 2025 to Advance Sustainable Energy Innovation
ESEIA proudly contributed as a Community Partner to the CleanTech Hackathon 2025, a landmark event held on 23–24 May at ENERGY EXPO 2025, the largest energy exhibition in Southeast Europe. Organized by Techcelerator with support from the Ministries of Energy of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, the hackathon gathered innovators, startups, scaleups, and key stakeholders to co-create AI-powered solutions for a more sustainable energy future.
ESEIA’s involvement as Community Partner reflects its long-standing commitment to supporting collaborative, cross-sector innovation in energy. With a strong European network of universities, research institutes, and industry partners, ESEIA actively promotes sustainable technologies and circular solutions that respond to real-world challenges in the energy transition.
The hackathon attracted over 130 participants from across the region, generating 30 solution concepts, with 14 teams and 15 ideas reaching the finals. The winning teams—YellowGrid, WiseWatts, and Procesio—proposed cutting-edge technologies ranging from intelligent energy management systems and AI energy co-pilots to automation platforms using large language models.
The competition was part of the CleanTech Nexus program launched by Techcelerator in 2024 to accelerate decarbonization and innovation in the energy sector. With challenges proposed by companies such as PPC, Delgaz Grid, and Romgaz, participants tackled pressing industry topics including smart grid management, renewable energy co-investment, AI for operational efficiency, and cybersecurity.
