What’s new in the Cluster 5 Programme 2023-2024? The Horizon Europe framework programme cluster 5 aims to fight climate change by better understanding its causes, evolution, risks, impacts and opportunities, and by making the energy and transport sectors more climate and environment-friendly, more efficient and competitive, smarter, safer and more resilient. Cluster 5 funds projects that contribute to research and innovative solutions that focus on: climate science and solutions, energy supply, energy systems and grids, buildings and industrial facilities in energy transition, communities and cities, industrial competitiveness in transport, clean & safe and accessible transport and mobility, smart mobility, and energy storage.

Like in the previous programme, the calls have 6 goals namely, 1) Climate sciences and responses for the transformation towards climate neutrality, 2) Cross-sectoral solutions for the climate transition, 3) Sustainable, secure and competitive energy supplies, 4) Efficient, sustainable and inclusive energy use, 5) Clean and competitive solutions for all transport modes, and 6) Safe, resilient transport and smart mobility services for passengers and goods.

The European Commission will publish the calls for proposals throughout the period of 2023 and 2024.
