SUMMARY:ESEIA Round Table
DESCRIPTION:The sixth ESEIA Lecture Series event will be held on 21 September 2023\, from 17:10 to 18:40 CEST\, at TU Graz\, during the 8th EPNOE International Polysaccharide Conference. In the ESEIA Round Table\, four leading networks representing Industry\, EU\, Science\, and EPNOE will delve into the topic of “On the way to climate-neutrality using Bio-based Materials”. Free registration is available for ESEIA Members!\n\n\n\nTitle: On the way to climate-neutrality using Bio-based MaterialsModerator: Martin Greimel\, Head of Centre for Bioeconomy at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences\, Vienna (BOKU)\, ATIndustry: Jo-Ann Innerlohinger\, Head of Funding\, Monitoring & PMO at Lenzing AG\, ATEU: Virginia Puzzolo\, Head of Programme at Circular Bio-Based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU)\, BE (online)Science: Stefan Spirk\, Associate Professor at the Institute of Bioproducts and Paper Technology at TU Graz\, ATEPNOE: Carmen Freire\, Vice-President of EPNOE\, PT \n\n\n\nMoving towards a climate and nature-positive economy goes beyond the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. It requires replacing carbon-intense products like plastics\, concrete\, or synthetic textiles with sustainable alternatives. In this context\, bio-based products derived from materials of biological origins\, such as crops\, biological waste\, and residues\, can play a crucial role in contributing to EU objectives of sustainable growth. Despite being already used in a wide range of applications and areas\, the full potential of these products remains largely untapped. The ESEIA Round Table will bring together representatives from policy\, academia and industry to assess the current state of European circular bioeconomy. The panel will review EU policy on bio-based products\, explore research advancements and showcase best practices from diverse sectors. By facilitating the exchange of views on the progress made so far among different stakeholders\, we aim to foster a comprehensive understanding of what is needed to accelerate innovation and market uptake of bio-based products. \n\n\n\nRegistration: \n\n\n\nESEIA Round Table \n\n\n\nAdmission to the ESEIA Round Table is free of charge for ESEIA Members. If you are interested in attending\, please register before 19 September 2023 to reserve your seat. \n\n\n\nEPNOE 2023 Conference \n\n\n\nIf you are interested in participating in the EPNOE 2023 Conference\, please check the full conference programme and the following options: \n\n\n\n\n– to attend the “Introduction Round Table Event” + ESEIA RT: € 120;\n\n\n\n– to attend the “Entire EPNOE Conference”: the full fee will apply (registration via the conference website).
