SUMMARY:International Fall School on Climate Change and Biodiversity
DESCRIPTION:The Fall School on “Climate Change and Biodiversity” is aimed at doctoral students and advanced master students. \n\n\n\nParticipants will be exposed to a wide range of topics related to climate change and risk assessment. Participants will be expected to read a small selection of academic papers in preparation for course\, and to film short videos summarising course aspects that are relevant to their own research. Topics and activities in the fall school include: \n\n\n\n– Wrap-up and short video presentations (Friday) \n\n\n\n– Biodiversity science and climate modelling (Monday afternoon) \n\n\n\n– Environmental and resource economics (Tuesday morning) \n\n\n\n– Hydrology and groundwater modelling\, with a field trip to the Wagna research station (Tuesday afternoon) \n\n\n\n– Vegetation ecology and remote sensing\, with an all-day field trip to the Austrian-Slovenian border (Wednesday) \n\n\n\n– Civil protection law and climate ethics (Thursday morning) \n\n\n\n– Earth system science and glaciology (Thursday afternoon)
