SUMMARY:RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar Croatia
DESCRIPTION:The fourth RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar is going to take place 13 June 2023 in Zagreb\, Croatia\, hosted by the University of Zagreb – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. This event is the last of a series of knowledge transfer seminars held in multiple EU countries in 2022-23 as part of the RE4Industry project\, funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020. Register before 9 June 2023 to secure your seat!\n\n\n\nHow can Energy-Intensive Industries shift away from fossil fuel dependence?\n\n\n\nAs the need to mitigate climate change and the cost of fossil fuels grows increasingly\, renewable energies become an essential driver of the shift toward a low-carbon future. To succeed in this systemic transition\, Energy-intensive Industries (EIIs)\, which make up more than half of the energy consumption of the EU industry\, must rapidly align their growth strategy with societal needs for sustainable development and climate action. How can this transition be accomplished without jeopardizing their competitiveness or endangering essential industrial processes? \n\n\n\nThe RE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar Croatia will provide a platform to debate how EIIs can succeed in this challenge and accelerate the already ongoing shift towards renewable energy solutions initiated with the RE4Industry project\, funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020. By bringing together experts from various backgrounds with industry representatives\, the event will provide a comprehensive overview of European success cases\, best practices\, policy recommendations\, and technological roadmaps for promoting renewable energy adoption. \n\n\n\nJoin us and contribute to the debate on how to decarbonise EIIs! \n\n\n\nCheck out the draft programme here! \n\n\n\n#RE4IndustryKTSeminars \n\n\n\nAbout the project \n\n\n\nRE4Industry facilitates for the energy intensive industry sector in Europe a smooth and more secure transition to the adoption of renewable energies in their production processes and facilities. The project guides the EIIs and their organisations in their path for a total decarbonisation towards 2050 by providing vision and guidance to establish their long-term strategy for a coherent and more secure retrofitting and integration of current and future renewable energy solutions in their facilities and processes. More information about the project is available here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRE4Industry Knowledge Transfer Seminar Series

SUMMARY:ESEIA Lecture Series: 5th Lecture
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems in Sustainable Communities in the EU and AfricaLecture 1: Thomas Schauppenlehner\, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences\, Vienna (BOKU)Lecture 2: Richard Wheeler\, European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance (ESEIA)Chair: Daniela Fuchs-Hanusch\, Urban Water Management and Landscape Water Engineering\, TU Graz \n\n\n\nClimate change and growing populations are placing additional pressure on the availability of food\, energy and water especially in the Mediterranean parts of Europe and particularly in Africa\, accompanied by an increased environmental footprint. The Water\, Energy\, Food\, Ecosystems Nexus approach is key to ensuring resilient\, circular and green economies and to achieving Sustainable Development Goals. Our guest lecturer from BOKU will address these challenges and explain how a range of stakeholders across countries need to be engaged. He will also present “GLOCULL: Insights into an FWE project using an urban living labs approach”. In addition\, the second lecturer from ESEIA will present “WEF Nexus Innovation in Africa: the ARENA project”. \n\n\n\nRegister here to attend! \n\n\n\nThis lecture is part of the new ESEIA Lecture Series titled Sustainable Energy Innovation Systems for Climate Neutrality. Please find more information about the ESEIA Lecture Series here.
