SUMMARY:ESEIA Lecture Series: 8th Lecture
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Smart Integration of Sustainable Mobility Solutions for Urban AreasGuest lecture by Judith O’Meara\, Director EIT Urban Mobility Innovation Hub CentralResponse 1: Mark Perz\, Head of Mobility & Leisure at Holding GrazResponse 2: Martin Hofstetter\, Researcher at the Institute of Automotive Engineering at TU GrazChair: Martin Hofstetter\, Researcher at the Institute of Automotive Engineering at TU GrazHost: Martin Fellendorf\, Professor at the Institute of Highway Engineering and Transport Planning at TU Graz \n\n\n\nOver 50% of the world’s population lives in cities. As cities grow\, so do the mobility challenges: traffic congestion\, increasing GHG emissions\, and inefficient transport systems. Addressing these challenges is a pressing and highly complex task that requires collaboration and innovative approaches from different stakeholders\, including governments\, municipalities\, city councils\, and service providers. Our invited lecturer will delve into this subject\, explaining why we need smart mobility solutions to make cities more sustainable. From electric vehicles to mobility-as-a-service\, she will also discuss how these solutions can revolutionize transportation\, reduce emissions\, and improve overall accessibility and convenience. Following the lecture\, we will hear from two respondents\, who will present the measures already in place and share their perspectives on further opportunities and challenges for reshaping urban mobility in the Austrian City of Graz and the Styrian region. \n\n\n\nRegister before 14 November 2023 to reserve your seat! \n\n\n\nOrganised by ESEIA in cooperation with TU Graz\, the lecture is part of the hybrid series Sustainable Energy Innovation Systems for Climate Neutrality. Please find more information about the ESEIA Lecture Series here. The event is supported by the Styrian Government.
